Skinny dog Hotel, Kew, Melbourne, VIC

I am SO SORRY for the long hiatus! I needed a break and I cant go to restraunts all the time and JUST have parma, can I (well I can, but I would rather not.)?

Anyway, Many people have told me about the Skinny Dog Hotel, and have told me that it has the best parma ever! So, yesterday, we went to go and investigate. It took a bit to find, but we were lucky to get a park out front.

When we walked in, I noticed the urban design looked like a back alleyway, and gave it that really nice feel, while being well lit up.
We decided on drinks quickly. but the food took a bit longer to decide. When we decided what we wanted, the lady took our order. The drinks came Quick. About 5-10 minutes. But the food took nearly 30 minutes to arrive. Which, I feel was slightly too long, considering that there wern't too too many people at the bar or eating. But when it arrived, I was amazed with what they had made and I loved it like a man loves his sports (Yes, I do).

The Parma Review.

The Parma arrived and I was amazed at what I had stumbled across! It was HUGE! AND IT TASTED AMAZING! I had ordered the biggest SIZE AND IT WAS AMAZING! NO, AMAZING DOESNT DO IT JUSTICE! I, LOVED it, and the chips were FANTASTIC! AND THE SALAD!.... tasted like salad, I guess... BUT I LOVED THE PARMA! It was cooked perfectly and the toppings were perfect. there was even a bit of green seasoning, which was a nice touch. The chips were cripsy and were made to perfection. All foods were served in two bowls and a long plate for the Parma. I BARELY ATE THE WHOLE PARMA! But, I managed it!

However service wasnt as good as it could have been. in the sense that there was little to no communication between the waiteress and the customer. But apart from that, It was very, very nice, and I would DEFINTLY RECOMMEND on going there!

I LOVED IT TO BITS! I GIVE IT A 9/10!

Now. I am going to be doing these every now and again, but I WILL do more. If your want to recommend any places that I haven't been, send me a email at:Haloreach151@gmail.com

Thats all for now. Farewell, and until next time!

Hogs breath Cafe, Watergardens, VIC.

I have been to hogs breath cafe before. They usually have good food, so I was looking foward to trying out their Parma, although, going there was unexpected, as we were going to go to a different bar, but, I digress. So we went to the bar and sat ourselves down. It was tradtional hogs breath cafe design. Rusted tin, old number plates, polished tree wood tables, TVs showing sports competitions like skateboarding and ATVs. I enjoyed the atmosphere. I always have. We ordered our drinks and they arrived after about 5-10 minutes. the food arrived about 30 minutes later and, I know they say dont judge a book by its cover, but I was unsure when I first saw the Parma.

The Parma Review.

So it arrived and I was surprised. It was completly different too what I had seen before. It was a golden crumbed chicken, and I must say, the chicken looked very nice. But there was quite a bit of sauce. I considered calling a lifeguard because it looked like it was drowning. I ended up taking the sauce off. The rest of the meal looked like how I expected it. The fries were crispy and golden. The Veggies were a bright color, and crisp. But there was a problem. Almost all of it was cold. The food had been hot at some point, but had cooled considerably, and, from what I could tell, It had been left and cooled for too long. The chicken wasnt as big as seen in the picture. It was two small bits of chicken schnitzel placed on top of one-another. The cheese was good, but it had just been shaven and had been spread unevenly. On a good note, it was filling and the chciken was very juicy and tasty.

All in all, as much as I enjoy hogs breath cafe, I was very upset at how they made a Parma, drowned it in sauce, and left it till almost cold. Next time they could reduce the amount of sauce used and try to spread the cheese more evenly, so it covers the whole chciken.

I am a HUGE fan of hog breath, but, Sadly, I had to give it a 5/10.

I am SO SORRY for not updating sooner, but I needed a break! I Won't be uploading posts as often, BUT I WILL STILL BRING MORE REVIEWS! I might have been a bit harsh in this review, but I was very disappointed. As I have said multiple times, I am a fan of hogs breath and I expected a bit more.

Club Mulwala, Mulwala, NSW.

Today I'm not going local. I'm in NSW at club Mulwala to check out their Parma!

We arrived at the club via mini bus, and signed in. Straight away, we accidentally walked into the adult gaming zone. We soon found our way and we found the restaurant, and it was almost full with people! We took a seat outside and we ordered our food and drinks. While I waited, I had a look around. We sat outside, on a large table. Almost all the other customers were inside, as it was freezing cold. Soon the drinks arrived. it took around ten minutes, but most of that was waiting in line, and ordering the food, so it was closer to 3-5 minutes. The drink was made well and it was tasty (note: It was a lemon lime bitters).
After about ten minutes, the food arrived.

The Parma Review.

So first thing I saw, was that the parma had been placed on top of the chips, and that is NOT, a good thing, and because of this, the chips were soggy. But regardless, I had to try the rest of the meal. The cheese was  very nice, and had plenty of flavor. There was a bit of debate of whether it was Tasty cheese or mozzarella, but I eventually decided on tasty cheese. The salad was well dressed, and very nice. I was unsure on whether the chicken was real, but I eventually decided that it was real, as it had the right look and taste. The sauce was bitter, as I tend to find with most parma (probably supposed to be like that), and had herbs and little bits of onion. The ham was tasty and very nice. When I put the chips and Parma together, I thought it tasted great! Even without the chips added, it still tasted Fantastic!

I thought it was really nice and I give it a 8/10.

I was so excited to post a new review! Look forward to the next one!

The Windy Mile, Diamond Creek, VIC.

Personally, I had been hoping to go to the Windy Mile for quite some time now, ever since I heard that it had a great Parma (from what I had heard from other people), I knew I had to try it.

So we arrived at the cafe and We sat at a table (it helps that we booked earlier) and we were given menus. I obviously had the Parma, With a Lemon Lime bitters to drink. The staff was fantastic and were very easy to talk to (I got some more places to review!) While I waited for the food, I had a chance to check the atmosphere. It was a slightly older feel wtih art placed along the walls occasionally. The feel of the place was a nice warm feeling, but I didn't have a chance to look any more because our drinks had arrived. It only took 3 minutes and the quality of the drink was fantastic. A nice change from drinking from your average straight up bottle of the mix.

So I talked with the family with me, and after 22 minutes, all of our meals arrived.

The Parma Review.

When it arrived the first thing I noticed was that it was in seperate bowls, and I liked that. A good change, and it allowed the chips to stay crispy and tasty. The chips themselves were great. Very crispy and full of flavor.
The salad was nice with the dressing and I enjoyed it (still didn't eat it all though). It was fresh, tasty and well seasoned.
The Parma had a bitter sauce, which suprised me at first. I was confused, but didn't pay it too much mind at the time. The ham was crispy and well done. The chicken had slightly crispy coating and was cooked very well. When I cut the chicken, i was shown a well cooked chook. The chicken was real and juicy. I ate the piece I had cut off, and the biterness of the sauce mixed with the rest was fantastic. I mixed the chips and parma together and I loved it!

I loved it and I give it a 8.5/10.

And thats it! Look foward to the Parma review!

Post 1: Cube Cafe, Eltham, VIC.

Today was my first post for my starting and hopefully ongoing blog.
Today we went to The Cube Cafe and wine bar in the Plenty area.
We walked in and we were welcomed with a very nice open atmosphere. We already had a reservation so we were able to sit down straight away. Menus were already waiting for us at the table, so that helped in some way. We looked for about 5 minutes before deciding on what we wanted. We ordered our drinks and it arrived shortly. We chatted and looked at the menu, deciding on what we wanted. We made our choices. Once we had decided, a waitress came and took our order. We ordered a main for each of us. There were three other people with me. I had ordered the chicken parma. We waited for about 15 minutes, they brought our meals.

The Parma Review.

When it arrived the first thing I checked was the quality of the meal. The chips were reasonably crispy, but some were placed under the parma, making them soggy, but still good regardless.
The cheese was tasty and full of flavor, but there was no ham underneath, which disappointed me slightly.
The chicken was juicy and tender, and it had a slightly crispy coating. I was hoping it would make a bit more crunch, but I wasn't too bothered by it. They cooked the chicken well, but some of the coating had come off the chicken, but gave me a chance to see the chicken, and see if it was real or not. I am certain that it was real chicken.
The sauce under the cheese was very nice, not overpowering and was a nice smooth texture.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and I give it a 7/10.

Thats it for today. See you next time for the next Parma review!
